The DANCERS' CLUB Christmas Function is on in a few days time - 4th December 2022. The dance schedule is our normal program starting from the Santorini Waltz. Doors open at 3pm for pre-dinner drinks. First dance starts at approximately 4:15pm. Venue location is at 1158/60 Castlereagh Road, Castlereagh. Dress - smart casual.
The DANCERS’ CLUB first gig for 2023 – Sunday 5th February starts at 2:30pm (doors open at 2pm) and finishes at 6:30pm. The lesson will be the Anna's WaltzWhat a beautiful couple. Terri an Jim always attending Danztastic with the same coordinated colours (dress wise). They love their dancing and enjoys the company of fellow dancers. Photo taken 1st December 2022 at the Penrith Seniors' Citizens Centre.
As a reminder our last dance for 2022 will be Wednesday 21st December. For those who will be attending will be a hawaiian shirt venue. Alternatively dancers can attend wearing a "loud" (colourful) shirt. Our first dance in 2023 will be on Monday 9th January.
For a trial we will try to organise a Friday night dance for the third Friday in January/February and March 2023. It will be a social event only (no lessons) and if significant numbers of dancers attend we could make this a permanent gig. More about this in a later post.
We remain aware to abide by the current NSW Health regarding COVID safe practices. Please if you are feeling unwell or believe you have been in contact with somebody who has COVID please consider not attending the Monday / Wednesday dances.
· Due to complaints from other hall users, not related to dancing, we are not to use talcum powder during dancing activities. Also please refrain from placing shoes on chairs. The Penrith Seniors Citizen Centre committee has ask me to pass on these conditions.
· I have attached our latest Danztastic brochure for those who may wish to pass it on to new-comers, also the (two-monthly) August addition of Stepp’n Out newsletter. The October newsletter is due in a few weeks.
· Please be reminded that when entering or leaving the hall when dancers are using the floor and in particular when you are not dancing during the venue do not walk across the floor to interfere with people who are dancing. Please walk as close to the wall and around participing dancers.
We now use one program consisting of 87 different dances. On Monday 7th March 2022 we started from the top of the program and continue to the end of the night at some point on the program. The following week we will commence dances from that particular point in the program. For Wednesday (9th March 2022) we will start half way down the program. A revised program released 18th October 2022 now includes the Memorial Waltz, TAG Tango and Anna's Waltz.
