--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our last dance venue for 2023 is Wednesday 20th December 2023. This will be a small Christmas dance event. If attending please come with some Xmas colours and/or festive season accessories.

Our first dance in 2024 starts on Monday 8th January 2024. There is a small change for the Monday dances. We are endeavouring to offer beginner's lesson. Please refer to the below schedule:

Starting Monday 8th January 2024 Danztastic Ballroom Dancing will be featuring a beginners’ class for those who would like to join in a group of ballroom dancing fraternity of people. Classes will be designed for those who never had any dance experience. Dance styles scheduled includes; slow waltz, slow foxtrot, modern tango, quickstep, Viennese waltz, cha cha cha, rumba, jive, paso doble, bossa nova, samba and other fun dances. After learning basic steps lessons will progress into sequence dances that are very popular with the older generation. Sequence dances (also includes Australian New Vogue styles) are an easy way to enjoy ballroom dancing to a set of choreographed steps that all perform on the dance floor at the same time. Our aim is to foster the physical, mental and most important, the social aspects of this amazing enjoyment activity. If interested our first lesson starts at 6pm (8th January 2024) at the Penrith Senior Citizen’s Centre.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Ballroom Big Bash event will be held 10th to 12th August 2024 at the St Marys Memorial Hall.  At this stage the theme and dress-up for this Saturday night's gig is: good, bad & ugly.

                 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We have organised an additional dance at the Penrith Seniors Citizens' Centre for the third Friday of the month during 2023 between 6:30pm to 9:45pm. It will be a social event only (no lessons). Hopefully we can make this viable with good patronage. The scheduled dates are as:

·                     Due to complaints from other hall users, not related to dancing, we are not to use talcum powder during dancing activities. Also please refrain from placing shoes on chairs. The Penrith Seniors Citizen Centre committee has ask me to pass on these conditions.

·                     Please be reminded that when entering or leaving the hall when dancers are using the floor and in particular when you are not dancing during the venue do not walk across the floor to interfere with people who are dancing. Please walk as close to the wall and around dancers.

The new rumba (Rumba Magic) will be included at bracket (10) alongside the Rumba (freestyle). Amendments to the above program will occur in due course.
